Propagating Succulents
Succulents are beautiful plants, but they aren't always the cheapest. One way of growing more succulents with buying a bunch, is propagate them. Propagating succulents as pretty easy, and the best/easiest time to propagate is when the plant starts to get leggy, which is when the plant isn't getting enough sunlight and the leaves start to grow further apart.
Step One
The first step is to pick off the leaves from the stem so only the top "flower" (bundle of leaves) is still there
Step Two
Then, the "flower" must be cut off and the flower and leaves that were previously pulled must callus over at the wounded end.
Step Three
After the leaves have callused over, the leaves must be placed in moist soil (this soil must be kept moist while the leaves are growing). After a couple of weeks, there should be baby plants.
Step Four
After the flower has callused over, it can be stuck in a pot with soil and it will continue to grow.
Step Five
Now there are plants growing from the leaves and the flower, but there is still one more place the will produce baby plants. This source is the leaf-less stem, and on this stem plants will grow from wherever there was a leaf.
